EAST LIVERPOOL — Authorities are still trying to sort out an apparent robbery that left one victim and a robbery suspect dead.
According to authorities, Rex Waugh, 63, of Newell, W.Va., died at East Liverpool City Hospital after he was beaten at his West Virginia home Wednesday night.
Terrence Williams, 42, and his girlfriend, April Tanner, 33, both of East Liverpool, have each been charged with murder. They are in the jail in Hancock County, W.Va.
Tanner allegedly knew Waugh. She was taken into custody in West Virginia.
East Liverpool Police Chief Mike McVay said police went to a rented house on Avondale Street in East Liverpool on Thursday where Terrence was living with his brother, Michael A. Williams, 36.
The Williams brothers were not the people whose name was on the rental agreement, police said.
McVay said Michael’s body was found in an upstairs bedroom. There were no signs of injury or wounds.
The Columbiana County Coroner’s Office said tests are being made to determine the cause of death.
