COLUMBUS — Mineral Ridge High senior Nicole Honsaker added two more state championships to the one she won on Friday in Division III of the OHSAA state track and field championships at the Jesse Owens Stadium.
Honsaker, who won the girls long jump on Friday, added the 100 high hurdles and 300 hurdles to her list of championships and became the first Mahoning Valley track standout to win three events in the same year since Girard's Cachet Murray did so in 2005.
She had a time of 15 seconds in the 100 hurdles and 44.27 in the 300. She missed out on a chance for a fourth title when Mineral Ridge’s 4x400 relay team, which she anchors, finished 8th.
Southeast High’s Nikki Murphy added another state title as she won the Div. III girls shot put crown with a throw of 4-8 1/4.
