Obama in Youngstown area on Tuesday

Published: Thu, July 31, 2008 @ 6:24 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, is expected to hold a town hall meeting Tuesday in the Youngstown area.

Isaac Baker, an Obama spokesman, said he couldn’t confirm or deny the visit.

But those involved in organizing the event — speaking on the condition of anonymity because they aren’t authorized by the campaign to discuss the visit — say details are being finalized. The campaign’s advance staff will be in the area Friday looking for a venue, sources say.

Obama last visited the area on Feb. 18 speaking at a rally held at Youngstown State University.

Obama fared poorly in the area during the March 4 Democratic primary losing to U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

U.S. Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, visited the Democratic-heavy Mahoning Valley twice since April.

To echo the above, I find it most interesting that McCain has resorted to these tactics, essentially insulting the voters.
I guess someone who has been in Congress for twenty-five years bears no responsibility for any of today's problems.

OldManGrump - you'd really vote for someone who has no experience in any government larger than that of a city? For someone who has no plans, no ideas, no nothing? He's just an empty suit. He can't even stop spinning and lying when he talks about his own background.

And have you forgotten the crack about the "bitter" rednecks "clinging to their guns and their religion?" Especially coming from someone whose own religion comes from the racist hate-monger Rev. Jeremiah Wright!

Have you seen Obama's website? His platform is there to see if you really want to know. I wouldn't say he has no plans or no ideas.

Also, I believe he's a senator. That's a national position. He has experience at the national, state, and local levels.

If you're going to use one quote to decide your vote or to totally sway you, I recommend looking at snopes.com.

Let us be clear on this, none of the 43 Presidents have had less experience. Look at my blog, "Even Chet Arthur had more..."

A state senator is one of dozens of other state legislators dealing with issues pertaining to and often unique to their state.

The junior Senator has only 3.5 years of federal legislative experience, and much of that was spent campaigning and not legislating.

Britney Spears has only 3.5 years less Federal legislative experience, and the same military and executive experience. She does have more business experience than Obama. I'm not sure if that fact is funny or frightening....

I'm pretty sure George Washington had no experience leading a country and very little legislative experience.

How much federal experience did George W. Bush have? hmmmm...

Maybe you need to check your facts, or at least get a coherent definition of experience.
