Day of Caring by UW seeks volunteers

YOUNGSTOWN — The 11th annual Youngstown/Mahoning Valley United Way “Day of Caring” will take place Sept. 11.

The day is an annual community-wide service project in which employees of local businesses participate by completing tasks and odd jobs and organizing activities of UW agencies. Student, church and other community groups as well as families are encouraged to participate. Projects include painting, cleaning, home repairs, serving meals and field trips.

The day not only serves as a community day of volunteering, it also kicks off the UW campaign.
