Parts of Calvary Run Drive on West Side closed

YOUNGSTOWN — Calvary Run Drive between Bella Vista Avenue and Milton Avenue has been closed and will remain closed through early September as part of a stream mitigation project. Motorists will be detoured via Milton Avenue to Price Road to Bella Vista Avenue. This work marks the beginning of a $1 million project which will enhance the degraded Calvary Run stream located in the Mill Creek Metro Park. The project’s main focus is to improve water quality, stream stability and plant and animal species diversity. This project will also modify and improve the stream to resemble what it would be under natural circumstances. The stream will be mitigated beginning at Belle Vista Avenue and continuing all the way to Lake Glacier. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by October 2009.
