AKRON (AP) — A state legislator from Northeast Ohio was expected to remain in the hospital through the weekend after being bitten by a dog while campaigning.
A spokesman says state Rep. Stephen Dyer was being admitted to Akron General Medical Center on Friday for an infection that developed in puncture wounds.
Spokesman Phil Saken says in a statement that the Democrat from Green was attacked by a Rottweiler as he went door-to-door in Suffield on Monday. The wounds are on his right forearm near the elbow.
Saken says Dyer is in good spirits and doing OK.
