Safety services

Township trustees plan to ask voters in November to approve a five-year, 2.2-mill safety-services levy that would generate about $2 million per year. If it passes, they plan to recall some laid-off employees and hire some new ones. The numbers by department:

Police: Hire between six and 10 officers.

Fire: Recall six laid-off firefighters.

Road: Recall three laid-off road department employees.
