Published: Fri, July 25, 2008 @ 11:22 a.m.

NORTH JACKSON — Arrangements have been made to continue emergency services in western Mahoning County after MedCorp. closes its Mahoning County ambulance and dispatching operations Thursday.

The fire chiefs of Jackson, Ellsworth, Berlin and Milton townships and Craig Beach and Lane LifeTrans ambulance officials will conduct a joint news conference at 10 a.m. Monday at the Jackson Township Fire Station, 329 N. Salem-Warren Road.

Lane has offered emergency medical training to firefighters in those communities, and a Lane ambulance will be housed at the Jackson Township fire station to serve the western part of the county.
