ENERGY-SAVING PROGRAMS

Programs available to help conserve energy and keep utility bills down:

All Ohio Edison Co. customers are eligible for the Home Performance with Energy Star and direct load control programs.

Through the Home Performance with Energy Star program, auditors complete home energy audits to determine whether any energy-saving measures can be implemented. Examples of some measures may include replacing any appliances with more energy-efficient versions.

Customers who participate in the direct-load program agree to allow Ohio Edison to adjust their thermostats during times of the summer with peak temperatures. The company will then provide an incentive, which may include credits on their bills or other types of compensation.
