Zabrecky to be ordained to diaconate

YOUNGSTOWN — Michal Zabrecky, a native of Siroke, Slovakia, will be ordained to the diaconate during a service at 10:30 a.m. July 26 at St. Louis Church, 300 N. Chapel St., by Bishop George V. Murry of the Diocese of Youngstown.

Before coming to the diocese in 2004, Zabrecky attended St. Charles Boromeo Seminary in Kosice, Slovakia, and received his undergraduate degree from the Catholic University in Ruzomberok.

He is completing a pastoral year at St. Louis Church. In the fall, he will return to St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pa., to complete his formation for diocesan priesthood.
