Hayek ends engagement
NEW YORK — Salma Hayek has called off her engagement to businessman Francois-Henri Pinault, her representative said Friday. The couple announced their plans to wed in March 2007, and welcomed a daughter, Valentina Paloma Pinault, several months later.
Hayek, 41, has starred in films such as “Frida,” “Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over” and “After the Sunset.” Pinault is the chief executive officer of the luxury goods company PPR SA, which owns high-end labels such as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Puma.
Thieves steal Warhols
STOCKHOLM, Sweden — Officials say one or more thieves broke into a Swedish museum and stole work done by American pop icons Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Police say the break-in happened at the Abergs Museum near Stockholm early Friday. Two Warhol and three Lichtenstein paintings were stolen as well as a Disney movie poster. The museum estimates the value of the stolen artwork at around $500,000.
