Youngstown man charged with counterfeiting in Hermitage

Published:Wednesday, July 16, 2008

HERMITAGE, Pa. — A Youngstown man was arrested and charged with trying to pass a counterfeit $100 bill, said Hermitage police.

Jabrae Perry, 31, of Jacobs Road was arrested at 5:37 p.m. Tuesday after he tried to buy merchandise at an Auto Zone with the fake bill, police said.

A clerk checked the bill, found it was counterfeit, and Perry took it and left, police said.

Southwest Regional Police found him at the Family Dollar Store in Farrell, and found three fake $100 bills in his possession, police said.

Perry was charged with forgery, criminal attempt and criminal conspiracy. He was arraigned today before District Judge James McMahon and taken to Mercer County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail, police said.
