Man, son attacked inside Canfield home

Published: Mon, July 14, 2008 @ 2:43 p.m.

CANFIELD — Police are searching for the two men who entered a Canfield residence with the presumed motive of burglary and assaulted the homeowner and stabbed his son at about 4:35 a.m. Sunday.

When a Mahoning County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a 911 burglary call at a Bay Hill Drive home, he found the 17-year-old son standing in the driveway bleeding from his side.

The teen told the officer that he was in the back yard talking to his mother when he heard his 64-year-old father yelling and saw him being pushed into a glass trophy case by a man wearing dark clothing, gloves and a ski mask. When the son went inside to help his father, another male wearing a ski mask attacked and stabbed him, according to police reports.

The assailants fled, one out of the front door and one out of the back.

As a resident of Southern Mahoning County I would like to be watching for these two in order to protect myself and my family. Could I possibly have a more complete description?

A good point by Bull_Chip. Why does the vindicator leave out descriptions of assailants in every stinking article they write? The vindicator is comprised of a bunch of hacks who have no idea about journalism except from what they read in People magazine.
On another point, why was this teenager up at 4:30 am talking to his mom who was also awake and apparently the father was as well. Strange.

As well, the copy editor is not capable of doing his/her job either. I bet this happened in the pm.

first of all why are you in the back yard talking at 4:30 in the morning? why not be in the house, even though you are in Canfield, believe it or not they have crime there.
