Facts about the fundraiser for the American Cancer Society:
About 10.5 million living Americans have a history of cancer.
Survival rates of all cases of cancer diagnosed increased from 50 percent in 1975 to 66 percent in 2003.
The American Cancer Society has funded 40 Nobel Prize winners.
For every staff member of the American Cancer Society, there are 700 volunteers.
