Liberty police investigating suspected marijuana plants at home

Published: Thu, July 3, 2008 @ 2:07 p.m.

LIBERTY — Township police are questioning the residents of a home on Montrose Avenue after finding marijuana plants growing in the backyard of the home Wednesday.

According to police reports, officers went to the home after a concerned citizen reported marijuana growing there. Officers found nine suspected marijuana plants growing in the backyard, more marijuana inside the home and a notebook with instructions on growing marijuana.

Reports say an occupant of the home acknowledged the marijuana was his. Acting Chief Richard Tisone said the occupant will likely face misdemeanor drug charges.
