VIENNA – The Trumbull County Coroner’s office has ruled that a 79-year-old Vienna Township man died accidentally of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Edward Gossick was found Monday afternoon in the living room of his Crew Hood Road home by relatives. Township Fire Chief Richard Brannon said the relatives had talked to him by phone over the weekend and found him dead when they checked on him. The chief said a faulty furnace may have caused the death. He suggested than anyone who uses fossil fuel as a heat source to install a carbon monoxide detector.
