AUSTINTOWN — Gov. Ted Strickland believes Hillary Clinton has the maturity and experience to be a great president of the United States.
That, along with her ability to get things done and her loyalty, are the reasons he’s endorsed her for the job, he told a crowd of more than 200 Clinton supporters who turned out for a Hillary rally at The Regency House on Mahoning Avenue Friday.
Hillary Clinton is committed to public service and has spent her life helping people, he said.
“These are dangerous times,” Strickland said, referring to ongoing wars and economic challenges and accusing President Bush for pouring the country’s resources overseas and destroying the country’s relationship with nations that have been America’s friends for decades.
Hillary Clinton has a plan to move this country forward and she is the one who can make the strongest case for Democrats in November, he said.

I agree completely with Governor Strickland. Hillary is the best choice.
God help us if Hillery gets in that office. Y'all think things are bad now ? Time to quit working and get on the welfare rolls
I agree with Governor Strickland. I believe Hillary has the experience to move this Country forward. She has a proven track record on health care, the economy and plans to bring our troops back home. I like Obama, but my gut tells me that he is too "wet behind the ears" to be truly effective. It will take 4 years for him to learn the ropes. With the mess in our Country right now, we need Hillary to clean things up. As she said in the debate "It took a Clinton in the White House to clean up after the 1st Bush, it will take another Clinton to clean up after the 2nd Bush." I just hope that the voters of this Country have the wisdom to see the true picture and not fall for the "aura" of the other candidate. I have misgivings about his work ethic and concerns on how he voted "present" on many issues, rather than making a decision as to yay or ney. He claims to have voted no for going into this war, but he may have voted "present" when that vote came up and made no true decision. The voters need to ask themselves how they felt when the issue for a war first came up. Most agreed with the vote to attack with the facts that were presented to us. The only option was to go ahead with it. We were all misled. We need to question the other candidate as to his reasons why he was against this war, when everyone else thought it was the right decision at that time. We need a strong candidate who is loyal, hard working, and experienced in all aspects of leadership. I believe that Hillary is that candidate.
If the Dems are interested in winning, Hillary is the wrong choice. The GOP is unhappy with their apparent elector right now, and their base will stay home in a McCain vs. Obama race. Put Clinton on the ticket, however, and you'll mobilize their party like no one else. Conservatives hate Hillary with a passion and will demonize her without mercy. Obama has what it takes to both energize the Democratic voters and attract independents and moderate Republicans. It's the only chance to take back the White House in the fall from the Republicans.
