LIBERTY — Officials have released the name the 51-year-old pedestrian who died after he was struck by a car on Belmont Avenue Tuesday evening.

An officer at the Ohio State Highway Patrol Warren Post said Frank Coscarelli was crossing the five-lane avenue around 6:45 p.m. when he was hit by 2004 Mitsubishi Galant traveling northbound Tuesday. Coscarelli, who had no permanent address, was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where he died from his injuries.

Officials said the pedestrian was at fault for the accident, and the driver, Nicholas R. Badila, 27, of Campbell, was not charged.

Badila was not injured in the accident, which took place south of Fairlawn Avenue.
