TOLEDO: Boardman Spartans beat Toledo Start 55-17

TOLEDO — Damien Jarrett ran for two touchdowns while Rob Boyd passed for two scores to lead Boardman to a 55-17 win over Toledo Start Friday night that keeps the Spartans undefeated.

Jarrett’s TDs covered 79 and 5 yards and he finished with 133 yards rushing in 13 carries.

Boyd’s TD tosses were to Ken Jones for 26 yards and Pat McFall for 45. He wound up 8-for-11 passing for 150 yards.

Tyler Walls also scored twice for Boardman (2-0) on runs of 50 and 3 yards.

Cameron Shaffer contributed 196 yards rushing in seven carries, including a 24-yard scoring dash.

Sam Porter also scored for the Spartans on a 20-yard pass interception.

Trevor Ragan was 8-for-8 in extra-point kicks.

McFall caught three passes for 66 yards.

Kyle Newman led Toledo Start (0-2) with 14-for-31 passing for 186 yards, including a 12-yard TD strike to Devin Price.

Troy Bell also scored a TD on a 96-yard kickoff return.

Price caught 11 passes for 116 yards.
