Legless, drunken driver arrested in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN — A legless 65-year-old Boardman man naked from the waist down was charged with driving drunk after first hitting a car at the Market Street/Indianola Avenue intersection around 10 p.m. Thursday and then hitting another one a few minutes later at the Market Street/Warren Avenue intersection, police said.

John E. Carlon of Hunters Glen was arraigned today in municipal court on charges of operating a vehicle impaired, failure to maintain an assured clear distance and failure to stop after an accident. He will be back in court Sept. 24 for a pretrial hearing.

I'm no lawyer but based on what I've read this guy doesn't have a leg to stand on when this thing goes to trial.

and what is it with naked guys running (excuse me, you know what i mean) around boardman lately....this is the third or fourth story i've seen in the past few weeks

How exactly was he driving? Was his car specially equipped? Who was manning the brake pedal? Or shouldn't we go there!! I wonder if he was charged with public nudity?

Give the guy a break? You know what, you're right; in spite of the fact that this guy used his 2,000+ lb. car as a battering ram while under the influence he should be given a break. All bad jokes aside he needs to be punished to the fullest extent of the law, legs or not he is clearly a danger to society. I'm all for people having the right to be depressed about their situations but not to the point where others are put in danger.

So the guy partied a little to much, we should all be so foot loose and fancy free. I'd bet you anything they let him go on his own recognizance, It's not like he's going to skip town.
