YOUNGSTOWN — Sunday’s Lil Wayne hip-hop concert at Chevrolet Centre has been postponed to an as-yet undetermined date in May.
Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., had long ago committed to appear on an episode of the CBS television series “CSI.” Shooting of the episode was delayed because of the Hollywood writers strike which started Nov. 5 and ended Feb. 12. The strike shut down production of the show.
Production of “CSI” has since resumed, and shooting for the Lil Wayne episode was rescheduled for this weekend, making the rapper unable to perform in Youngstown.
All tickets purchased for Sunday’s concert will be honored at the rescheduled show. Tickets are also still available at the Chevy Centre box office and online at gettix.net.

Let’s see if I understand this – “Tickets are also still available at the Chevy Centre box office and online at gettix.net” for a non-existent show that has not and may not be rescheduled?
The venue just found out today that the performer wouldn’t be here on Sunday? What gave it away, the fact that no stage equipment had arrived yet?
Sterling example of the professional management style of the venues’ current executives. Next stop – the Chevrolet flea and farmers market. Oh, I forgot, the JEDDs will pay for this white elephant if the county doesn’t take it over.
The wonder that is Youngstown. If you can’t say anything positive, tell the truth!
