Galbraith wins two at Cope

SALEM — Struthers senior Ashley Galbraith finished first in the 300-meter hurdles (49.88) and the high jump (5-foot-2) at Friday’s F.E. Cope Invitational at Reilly Stadium.

Lauren Shivers (5:42.07) won the 1600 and Sarah Brobeck (136-0) won the discus to help lead the Quakers to a second-place finish in the girls-only meet. Shaker Heights won the invitational with 97 points, while Salem had 59 and Poland had 55.

Other area winners included Chaney’s Shatasia Walker (100 hurdles), Jackson-Milton’s Samantha Hamilton (3200), Hubbard’s Michele Starkey (800), Poland’s Amanda Cox (shot put) and Warren Harding’s Diamonn Hymes (long jump).
