“Ugly Betty” (8 p.m., ABC): Fresh off her well-deserved Emmy victory, America Ferrera returns to launch the second season of “Ugly Betty.” In the opener, Betty’s life is a chaotic mess after a series of very unfortunate events. But she’s still in denial about one thing — how much Henry’s departure has affected her.

“Grey’s Anatomy” (9 p.m., ABC): Addison and Burke (Isaiah Washington) are gone, but there’s still lots of drama to go around on “Grey’s Anatomy.” As the new season begins, we’re anxious to find out how the whole George-Izzie thing plays out.
