Downtown company is prepared to grow

Published: Wed, July 25, 2007 @ 12:33 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — A downtown technology company has moved out of the Youngstown Business Incubator and is ready to fly.

Empyra celebrated the opening of its new downtown office today, with company president Shanthi Subramanyam predicting rapid growth.

The company now has five staffers inside 20 Federal Place, the former Phar-Mor Centre, and 15 others who work from their homes or customer locations.

Within three to five years, Subramanyam expects the company to employ between 200 and 300 nationwide, with about 10 percent being located in Youngstown.

“Once you get your foundation set, the sky’s the limit,” the 38-year-old Canfield resident said.

Empyra provides Web-based products that improve the operating systems of companies and agencies. Its products eliminate paperwork, allowing forms to be completed online and be sent automatically to the next user.
