MEADVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A man convicted of having sex with a 13-year-old girl was sentenced to five to 15 years in state prison.
Brian Catalano, 43, of Cambridge Springs, apologized Monday to his family. “I don’t know how to express it other than I’m sorry,” he said.
Prosecutors accused Catalano of sexually assaulting the teenager at his home in July 2005, as well as having sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl and giving alcohol to both girls.
A jury in May convicted Catalano of aggravated sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to minors. Jurors acquitted him of one count each of corruption of minors and indecent assault.
