City cops, firefighters investigating death at North Side apartment

Published: Tue, July 24, 2007 @ 1:32 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — Firefighters were called to 208 Broadway on the city's North

Side at 12:40 p.m today and found a man dead inside his second-floor apartment at the three-story, six-plex.

A neighbor who lives in a downstairs apartment told firefighters said she heard screaming and things being thrown around before she smelled smoke.

Battalian Chief Robert Hian said based on her statement, city homicide detectives were called. Hian said right now the death appears to be a homicide covered up by an arson.
