Cardinal Joint Fire District getting a new pumper tanker next year

Published: Thu, July 19, 2007 @ 9:59 p.m.

CANFIELD — Beginning early next year, the Cardinal Joint Fire District should have a new vehicle in its fleet.

By February, a new $455,000 pumper tanker should be ready for operations, Don Hutchison said at today’s Cardinal Joint Fire District’s Board of Trustees meeting.

Hutchison, the district’s deputy fire chief, explained that the tanker, which will have a 2,500-gallon capacity, will be one of two pumper vehicles, and that it will replace a similar pumper.

The truck was ordered through Warren Fire Equipment and will be custom built to handle fires with and without hydrants, he noted.
