Boardman man donates $10,000 to help ill woman

BOARDMAN —  Philanthropist Tony Lariccia said he has decided to donate $10,000 dollars to the Belinda Poole Foundation Fund after reading about her debilitating disease her family’s struggle to pay for her treatment in the Vindicator’s July 19th story.

“The story about this young mother took me because her disease is such a rare and debilitating one and she has two young children that need her. I hate to see children without their mother,” Lariccia said.

Lariccia has donated more than $10 million to Valley institutions over the past 23 years and he said giving to others is where he finds his happiness.

“The way to be happy is to serve others. If you can forget yourself, life is far more rewarding and happy,” the Boardman resident said.

Lariccia is hoping that his donation will inspire others to help in any way they can.

To make a donation, send a check to Farmers National Bank 102 W. Western Reserve Road Boardman c/o Belinda Poole Foundation. There will also be a benefit party on Saturday July 21 at the Cellar in Struthers.
