PHOENIX — Becky Hammon scored 10 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter in her return from a sprained foot, lifting the San Antonio Silver Stars. Sophia Young scored 26 points and had 12 rebounds to lead the Silver Stars (12-6), who have won four straight and eight of 10 after starting the season 4-4. Diana Taurasi had 27 points and nine rebounds for Phoenix (11-9), losers of two straight after winning four in a row. Penny Taylor added 19 points and 11 rebounds. Hammon hit a pair of 3-pointers and had eight points in a 10-2 run early in the fourth quarter after Phoenix pulled to 63-59 with 8:53 remaining. Hammon, who missed three games, entered as the league’s fourth leading scorer at 19.1 points per game and leads the league with 5.4 assists.
Sun 76, Storm 63
SEATTLE — Katie Douglas scored 17 points to lift the Sun over the Storm before a sellout crowd of 10,891. The Sun (8-11), who earlier this month became the first WNBA team to score at least 100 points in consecutive games, showed they could win a controlled-tempo contest. Nykesha Sales added 15 points and Evina Maltsi had 11 for Connecticut. Lauren Jackson scored 24 points for the Storm (11-9), who had won four of their last five. Iziane Castro Marques added 13 points.
