SNPJ prepares for Slovenefest
BOROUGH OF SNPJ, Pa. — Join SNPJ members and friends at the SNPJ Recreation Center in Lawrence County on Friday through Sunday when the borough of SNPJ is host to the 26th annual Slovenefest sponsored by the Slovene National Benefit Society.
Beginning at noon Friday, SNPJ will begin welcoming the first of its 10,000-plus Slovenefest weekend guests to three days of continuous music performed by a number of the region’s top polka bands and special guest Denis Novato, a world champion accordionist from Slovenia.
Slovenefest XXVI will be on the SNPJ Recreation Center grounds, 270 Martin Road, in Enon Valley in Lawrence County. Performances will be featured in four separate venues, on two outdoor stages, in the indoor “Gostilna” and in the air-conditioned Alpine Room inside the recreation center’s main building.
Weekend activities include the 51st Miss SNPJ Pageant, which begins at noon Friday and children’s entertainment. Arts and crafts will be on display and available to buy.
Admission is $8 Friday and $10 Saturday and Sunday. A three-day pass is available for $25. Children younger than 16 are admitted free. Parking is free. The SNPJ Recreation Center is off of Pennsylvania Route 108.
