OVI Task Force makes Youngstown arrests

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County OVI   (operating vehicle impaired) Task Force arrested two drivers at the sobriety checkpoint conducted Friday night, and an additional arrest was made for an open container.

The checkpoint was conducted as part of a comprehensive and intense enforcement program to stop impaired driving in Mahoning County.   It was held from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. on Market Street, near Ravenwood.

Number of vehicles checked: 814.

Drivers tested for impaired driving: 6

Number of OVI arrests, 21 and over: 2

Average blood alcphol content:      0.153

Number under the legal limit: 4 (Of the four under the legal limit of 0.08 BAC, three were releases and one was required to obtain a ride home from another sober individual).
