Nominee named to fill vacant board spot

Published: Sat, July 7, 2007 @ 12:00 a.m.

SALEM — Patty Colian was nominated to fill a vacant spot on the Columbiana Board of Elections.

She was nominated by the Democratic Party to replace Dennis Johnson, who resigned. Her nomination will go to Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner within the next 15 days.

Colian will remain on the board for the next year until Johnson’s regular term expires.

Colian has been the office manager at the county Democratic headquarters in Salem for the last two years. Johnson said she was the only nominee, and was approved by 100 percent of the vote.
