CAMPBELL — A 16-year-old girl was shot in the legs Sunday night while standing in front of the Community Center at Roosevelt Park.
The girl was reportedly leaning on a railing, talking to her boyfriend, when one shotgun round was fired from a small black vehicle, police reports said.
The alleged shooter had called her boyfriend to the vehicle prior to the shooting, reports said. She and her boyfriend reported they did not recognize the vehicle nor its passenger.
Police found the girl inside a Jean Avenue home. She was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Health Center.
She and her boyfriend reported they could not think of anyone who would want to cause them harm, reports said.
