Explosion levels East Side home

YOUNGSTOWN — City fire officials believe that natural gas was the cause of an explosion that blew an East Side home off its foundation tonight.

Firefighters responded to a blast at 38 Livingston St. at around 8:30 p.m.

The man who lived at the residence suffered minor injuries, a fire dispatcher said. The man was not identified. The home had no electricity.

Neighbors said the man lived there alone. He was distraught because his father had recently died, the neighbors added.
