Niles police probe two deaths

NILES — City police are investigating the deaths of two men found on Thursday.

A man was found in the back seat of a car parked at Pepper Tree Apartments on Robbins Avenue at 11 a.m. The man, whose name has not been released by police, appears to have been living in his car and to have suffered from poor health. There were no signs of foul play, police noted.

Police are also investigating the shooting death of a man who was a resident of the Carnegie Arms Apartments on Youll Street. Police and the complex manager found the man at 6:30 p.m. after receiving calls concerned about his whereabouts. Police also have not identified the man, but said they believe his injury could be self-inflicted.

Autopsies were scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
