Fire slows traffic on Pa. pike tonight

ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. — One west-bound traffic lane of the Pennsylvania Turnpike was closed and traffic was slowed for several hours after a tractor-trailer caught fire tonight.

The fire started a little after 7 p.m. between three and four miles east of the Ohio border, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

They were not sure of the nature or cause of the fire tonight, but said clean-up would take several more hours.

No one was injured.

Traffic was backed up about a mile around 10:30 p.m.
