YSU offers help to smokers
YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State University may have banned smoking from nearly all areas on campus, but it hasn’t banned the smokers and is offering to help them quit their habit.
The university will sponsor a program aimed at helping students and employees to stop smoking.
“Smokeless: The Stop Smoking Program That Works” is being offered in February to YSU faculty, staff and students at the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center on campus.
The program includes: An introductory session that prepares participants to stop smoking; four consecutive days of treatment sessions that provide support, tools to tame urges, methods on how to deal with stress, nutrition tips and how to use various techniques to become a non-smoker; and a maintenance session that includes tools to stay smoke free for life.
