CLEVELAND -- The Vans Warped Tour -- America's longest-running touring festival -- will be the feature of a new exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
"The Warped Tour truly helped bring the punk-rock skate culture into the view of mainstream society," said Jim Henke, chief curator of the Rock Hall. "The tour has also been responsible for launching the careers of many of today's top rock bands."
"Warped: 12 Years of Music, Mayhem and More" will run from Jan. 27 through Sept. 3. The presentation will feature memorabilia from No Doubt, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, NOFX, New Found Glory, My Chemical Romance, Joan Jett, Dropkick Murphys, Bouncing Souls, Rancid, Helmet, Taking Back Sunday, Senses Fail, All-American Rejects and others.
Once the initial six-month exhibit ends, these items will be put into a "time capsule" to be stored at the museum for 25 years, opened at a special event in 2031 and again displayed for an additional six months.
