Dec. 31
Counterfeit: An employee at Cigarette Outlet, 6009 South Ave., reported receiving a counterfeit 100 bill.
Theft: A man discovered a plastic religious item stolen from his front yard in the 7800 block of Glenwood Avenue.
Bomb scare: A woman reported receiving a bomb threat
regarding Rockne's, 1497 Boardman-Canfield Road. Police had no suspects at the time of the report.
Theft by deception: Officers arrested a 25-year-old Youngstown woman on a charge of theft by deception after someone switched price tags on merchandise at Macy's in the Southern Park Mall and tried to buy the items at a lower price.
Theft: Six iPods were stolen from Home Depot, 7001 Southern Blvd.
Theft: A woman returned to her vehicle at Kohl's, 383 Boardman-Poland Road, and realized property had been taken from it.
Criminal damaging: A woman in the 1900 block of Mathews Road called police after someone struck her vehicle's front windshield.
Criminal damaging: A man in the 30 block of Newport Drive found a rear window on his car had been smashed.
Arrest: Authorities arrested a Salem man, 41, on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated as they conducted a traffic stop in the township. The driver's blood alcohol count was 0.215, police said.

Recovered property: A Rochester, Pa., man told police he found a gold diamond ring while walking in the 40 block of Water Street.
Dec. 29
Drugs: Charges of drug abuse (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia were pending against a 19-year-old Struthers man after officers stopped him near U.S. Route 224 and state Route 170. Police said they found in the vehicle a cigar box containing a bag with about 3.4 grams of suspected marijuana, another bag with suspected marijuana seeds, an electronic scale and other suspected drug paraphernalia.

Drugs: While investigating an unoccupied vehicle near the Poland Village Woods at the end of College Street, officers arrested a Boardman man, 24, after saying they that found five Percocet tablets and that he admitted having suspected marijuana in his coat pocket. Charges were pending.
Arrest: A traffic stop near U.S. Route 224 and state Route 170 resulted in the arrest of a 23-year-old Youngstown man when police found out he was wanted on a warrant from Boardman charging him with failure to appear in court. The original charges were possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
