Second courtroom to close for renovation

Published: Sat, September 9, 2006 @ 12:00 a.m.

LISBON -- The second courtroom in the Columbiana County Courthouse will be closed at the end of next week as part of a renovation project.

The courtroom of Judge C. Ashley Pike of common pleas court will reopen Sept. 18.

Judge Pike's court will relocate to the Charles A. Pike Juvenile Court Center, 260 W. Lincoln Way. A sign will designate the entrance on the east side of the building to the temporary court. That entry is different from the main door to the juvenile facility.

Because of limited parking at the juvenile center, people should park at the courthouse and walk the approximately two blocks to Judge Pike's courtroom.

Calls will still reach the court at its regular telephone number (330) 424-7777.

Judge David Tobin, the second common pleas judge, relocated his courtroom operations to the county Municipal Court building.

The renovations will include a new courthouse roof, new heating and air conditioning, new security equipment and renovation of the courtrooms and court-related offices.
