ASSOCIATIONS

XAmerican Association of University Women, Boardman-Canfield Branch, will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Baird Pavilion, Cory Road, Canfield. Board members will provide a salad supper, and there will be a "Book Teaser" sale. Members are asked to take books for an auction. Guests are welcome. ATHLETIC GROUPS

XMcDonald Midget Football Association will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday in the senior citizens room.

XMcDonald Sideliners meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Blue Devil Room at the high school.

AUXILIARIES

XSt. Elizabeth Health Center Auxiliary will meet at noon Monday in the guest dining room. The speaker will be John Hughes, manager of Mobile Intensive Care. The topic will be "Critical Care Transport."

XSalvation Army Women's Auxiliary will celebrate its 25th anniversary at a noon meeting Tuesday at Park Vista Gathering Room, 1216 Fifth Ave. Mrs. William C. Bigelow will preside, and Susan Borowski will speak on "Laughter-Fitness." Accolades will be given by Sue Foley. Serving on the planning committee will be Bigelow, Foley, Mrs. Loren Kindler, Mrs. Jack Freaney, Sherrie Walker, Marge Lardas, Lois Brown, Alice Phelps and Jane Ames. XStruthers K. of C. Ladies will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the hall with Lora Opsitnik and Louise Horvath as hostesses.

XVFW 3538 Auxiliary of Struthers will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday with a social hour to follow. Members are collecting Campbell Soup labels for children at the national home and also nonperishable items such as toiletries, cookies and potato chips in nonbreakable containers for the servicemen and women in VA hospitals and serving in Iraq. XAustintown II Homemakers will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at Smith Corners United Methodist Church. Margaret Kollmorgan will present a Halloween windsock craft workshop, and Rosemary Beatty-Wilcox, a volunteer for the American Cancer Society Telefriend project, will be the speaker. Dues will be collected, and guests are welcome.

XMcDonald Parents of Performing Arts will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the senior citizens room at the post office building.

FRATERNAL GROUPS

XCampbell Croatian Fraternal Union 185 will meet at 1 p.m. Sunday at Bedford Trails Golf Course.

XGirard Golden Eagles will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Girard Free Library.

GUILDS

XMcDonald Literary Guild will meet at 8 p.m. Thursday at Woodland Park United Methodist Church.

XWestern Reserve Knitting Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fair Park for a "Las Vegas Night" program. Members should take six skeins of scrap yarn numbered one through six, one size 9 to 13 circular needle, one die and one coin.

XYoungstown Area Weavers Guild will meet for a covered dish picnic and installation of officers Wednesday at Weaving Willow in Hubbard. Current projects will be shared and programs planned. LEAGUES

XBoardman Poland Junior Women's League will hold a picnic open house Sept. 18 at Beard Cabin in Boardman Township Park. Featured will be a "Welcome Back" general meeting at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30. School supplies will be collected for a local school. The league is open to all women over 18 in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties. LIBRARY FRIENDS

XFriends of Boardman Library will resume monthly meetings on Monday with a social at 9:30 a.m. in the community room followed by a program at 10. John Beilhart will speak on "Honey Bees and Beekeeping Products." Hostesses will be Jan Harper, Loretta Liptak, Mary Santagata and Patricia Spisak. New members and guests are welcome. No reservations are required. Books and tapes will be collected for the book cart from 10 a.m. to noon the first and third Saturday of each month.

XChurch Women United will meet at 10 a.m. Monday in the first floor conference room at the Greater Mill Creek Community Center, 496 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown.

XMount Carmel Society of St. Rose Church will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the lower church.

XSeton III will meet at 10 a.m. Sunday at Ursuline Mother House on Shields Road, Canfield, for Mass and a luncheon. The speaker will be Carol Starre-Kmiecik, and there will be a re-enactment of the life of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.

SERVICE CLUBS

XGirard-Liberty Kiwanis will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Golf Dome, 1300 N. State St., Girard.

XGirard-Liberty Rotary will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Amen Corner, 20 W. Main St., Girard.

SINGLES

The Computer Interest Group will meet at 6 p.m. Anyone interested in genealogy software and related online computer problems is welcome.

XSigma Xi, Scientific Research Society of Youngstown State University will have a buffet and presentation at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Arthritis Center, 5500 Market St. Dr. Diana Fagan will speak on "Treatment of Bacterial Infections Without Antibiotics." XEighth District Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will meet Sunday at Western Reserve VFW 1055 Post, 5000 New Milford Road, Ravenna. Scheduled are breakfast, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.; registration, 7:30 a.m. to noon; and meeting 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A parade of membership transmittals is planned.
