Schrader's 24 points key Lowellville past Ursuline

YOUNGSTOWN -- Jacque Schrader scored 24 points as Lowellville High defeated Ursuline in four sets in a volleyball match Wednesday.

The Rockets won, 25-10, 22-25, 25-9, 25-19.

Kaitlin McCarthy had 11 digs, while Alison Grapevine added 15 blocks and Rachel Marotti 14 kills to reinforce Lowellville (2-1).

Allison Williams led the Irish (0-7) with eight points, two aces and 17 assists. Myesha Mendenhall had 18 assists and five digs. Dominique Jenkins had eight blocks and four kills.

JVs: Lowellville 25-11, 25-9.

Mathews 25-25-25,Struthers 23-10-18

VIENNA -- Karen Pilati scored 17 points, with three aces and four kills for the Mustangs (5-0). Breane Gollan had 14 points, three aces, two blocks and five kills, and Jenna Manz had 13 assists and six points.

Jenn Trevis led the Wildcats with 16 points and Lauren Terry had two kills.

JVs: Mathews 25-13, 25-19.

Girard 25-25-25,Liberty 17-13-15

GIRARD -- Cassie Guerrieri had 10 points, six kills and 10 digs for the Indians, while Elise Roscoe added 16 points, two aces, seven kills and 10 digs.

Chelsea Guerrieri also led Girard (4-0, 2-0 Trumbull Athletic Conference) with six points, six kills and six digs.

For Liberty (3-1, 1-1), Jessie Szakacs had seven points, four kills, two blocks, nine assists and five digs, while Megan Kay added five points, six kills, four blocks and 19 digs.

JVs: Girard 14-25, 28-26, 25-22.

LaBrae 25-25-25,Newton Falls 21-22-16

LEAVITTSBURG -- Twin sisters Lindsey and Stephanie Higgins led the Vikings (2-2, 1-1 TAC). Lindsey scored 13 points, with six aces and 20 assists, while Stephanie had 15 kills and nine digs. Brandy Stenarud had two blocks.

Sasha McGregor led the Tigers (2-3, 0-2) with 10 points and five aces. Kirsten Berry had six kills. JVs: LaBrae 25-15, 25-22.

Brookfield 25-25-25,Champion 16-20-17

CHAMPION -- Samantha Bombeck scored 13 points with three aces for the Warriors (2-2). Morgan Bonekovic had 20 kills, Tara Lee Williams 29 assists and Rachel Baker 14 digs.

Jackie Knepp and LeAnn Thompson led the Golden Flashes with five points each. Thompson also had 11 assists and Amber Ackerman had 10 digs.

JVs: Champion 25-20, 25-20.

Warren Harding 34-25-25,Rayen 32-19-23

YOUNGSTOWN -- Jade Clark scored 16 points, with four aces, five kills and two blocks for the Tigers (2-3) Tuesday. Nicole Hines had 21 assists and five kills. Kara Bentley had eight kills and five blocks.

JVs: Warren Harding 13-25, 25-13, 25-21.
