A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and in Austintown:

CANFIELD

Aug. 29

Drug paraphernalia: Police charged a 28-year-old Louisville, Ohio, man with drug abuse, obtaining and possessing, use and concealing of drugs at West Main Street and Palmyra Road. Police found a silver weighing scale, two multicolored pipes with residue, five packs of rolling papers, a silver grinder in a black leather case, a small bag of suspected marijuana, a bag containing remnants of marijuana cigarettes and a cigar holder containing suspected marijuana.

Concealed weapons: Police charged a 21-year-old Liberty man with improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle, failure to inform police he had weapons and not securing them properly. Police found two 9 mm handguns, another handgun with the serial number filed off, bullets and a screwdriver.

Sept. 3

Drug abuse/drug paraphernalia: Police charged a 19-year-old Salem man with drug abuse, obtaining and possessing drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and sale of liquor to an underage person on North Broad Street at the Home Savings and Loan Bank. Police found a silver pipe with suspected marijuana residue and a small yellow book with about 1 gram of suspected marijuana in it.

AUSTINTOWN

Aug. 29

Auto theft: A 1995 Crown Victoria was stolen at B & amp;R Wholesale Tire, 116 S. Meridian Road.

Criminal damaging: A window was damaged at a home in the 4000 block of Nottingham Avenue.

Illegal dumping: Miscellaneous documents with names were found at a dump site in the 3000 block of Lanterman Road.

Theft: A debit card, Ohio driver's license, Social Security card and a wallet were stolen from an apartment in the 60 block of North Raccoon Road.

Criminal damaging: Paint damage was reported to a 2006 GMC vehicle parked in a driveway at a home in the 200 block of North Beverly Drive.

Criminal damaging: Paint damage was reported to a 2006 Chevrolet parked at a home in the 200 block of North Yorkshire Boulevard.

Breaking and entering: A push lawn mower was stolen from a structure in the 100 block of South Main Street.

Theft: A cashier was shortchanged by two men at Get Go, 5163 Mahoning Ave.

Fraud: Counterfeit traveler's checks were passed at Pizza Hut, 5332 Mahoning Ave.

Breaking and entering: A lawn mower was taken from a home in the 100 block of South Main Street.

Aug. 30

Criminal damaging: A support column was rammed by a vehicle at Cardinal Plaza, 1698 S. Raccoon Road.

Drug offense: Police arrested an Austintown man at Mahoning Avenue and Four Mile Run Road and charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence and resisting arrest.

Theft: A Dell laptop computer was stolen from a vehicle parked at a home in the 6000 block of Ridgeview Drive.

Breaking and entering: Nothing was reported missing after a break-in at Beacon Broadcast, 5370 W. Webb Road.

Criminal damaging: A window was damaged at a home in the 4000 block of Staatz Drive.

Criminal damaging: Graffiti was painted on a home in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: A wallet with cash, a Visa debit card and an Ohio driver's license was stolen at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Pills were taken from a home in the 200 block of North Yorkshire Boulevard.

Aug. 31

Theft: A woman is a suspect in a theft from an apartment in the 800 block of Compass West apartments.

Theft: Pictures, shoes and clothing were stolen from a vehicle parked at a home in the 6000 block of Fox Cross Court.

Identity fraud: A checking account at Sky Bank, 6010 Mahoning Ave., was charged $464.

Theft: A boys' 20-inch bicycle was stolen from the 200 block of Westminster Avenue.

Fraud: Two counterfeit money orders for $500 each were cashed for a South Bend, Ind., man by residents of a home in the 400 block of South Raccoon Road.

Sept. 1

Burglary: A home was broken into and items were taken in the 90 block of Kenmar Court.

Vehicle pursuit: A 21-year-old Austintown man wrecked a vehicle during a pursuit on state Route 46 and Mahoning Avenue. Police found him later and placed him in Mahoning County jail.

Aggravated menacing: A man who lives in the 300 block of Forest Hill Drive reported receiving threatening calls.

Breaking and entering: A front window was smashed out and items were taken at R Ski & amp; Pool, 5880 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A cell phone and garage door opener were stolen from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home in the 1000 block of Woodland Trace.

Theft: An Ohio license plate was stolen from the front of a vehicle parked at the Roadhouse, 920 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Theft: The trunk of a vehicle was entered by someone pulling the trunk-release mechanism of the unlocked vehicle at a home in the 4000 block of Darbyshire Court.

Theft: A vehicle was left unlocked and items taken from a vehicle parked at a home in the 4000 block of Darbyshire Court.

Breaking and entering: 150 feet of cable was stolen at 380 Henricks Road.

Burglary: A television, phone, alcohol and jewelry were stolen from a home in the 100 block of North Edgehill Avenue.

Theft: Stolen from McQuaid's, 5160 Mahoning Ave., was $30 worth of fuel.

Theft: A radar detector was stolen from an auto parked in the 2000 block of Penny Lane.

Theft: Seven-Seventeen Credit Union checks were reported stolen.

Theft: A woman's purse was taken from an auto at Perkins, 5550 Interstate Blvd.

Counterfeit checks: Counterfeit American Express Travelers Cheques were passed at Wal-Mart.

Sept. 2

Obstructing official business: Police arrested a Youngstown man and placed him in county jail for obstructing official business and other traffic violations at the Austintown police station, 92 Ohltown Road.

Criminal damaging: A back window of a vehicle was broken at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: The steering column on a vehicle was damaged at Kmart, 4474 Mahoning Ave.

Sept. 3

Criminal damaging: About 25 feet of lawn was damaged at a home in the 2000 block of Birch Trace Drive.

Criminal trespassing: A summons was issued for a woman for being inside a fence at FYDA Trucking, 5260 Seventy-Six Drive.

Theft: Items were stolen from a car in the parking lot at The Babylon, 114 Javit Court.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle door and quarter panel were scratched in the carports in the 400 block of Wilcox Road.

Theft: Food was stolen form Certified Oil, 825 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Theft: Medication was taken from a home in the 4000 block of Norquest Boulevard.
