YOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Paul Plunkett, 1830 McCollum Road, recently returned from a tour of Italy and Sicily in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.

The couple also renewed their nuptial vows at a Mass held Sept. 23 at St. Brendan Church before attending a dinner and dance at Fonderlac Country Club, New Springfield.

Hosts for the Hollywood-themed celebration were their daughters and son-in-law, Monica Plunkett of Cleveland Heights and Cheryl and Ken Mikula of Strongsville, and the couple's two grandchildren.

Holy Name Church was the setting Sept. 29, 1956, as the former Mary Ann Slanina and Mr. Plunkett were united in marriage. They are members of St. Brendan Church and the Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club.

Mrs. Plunkett retired in 2004 from Youngstown Public Library, where she was a clerk II.

Mr. Plunkett is the owner/operator of Plunkett Furniture Refinishing in Youngstown.
