MARTA SIMCOXJASON EVANS
BOARDMAN -- Nuptial vows were exchanged during a 3:30 p.m. ceremony Oct. 7 as Marta Kay Simcox and Jason H. Evans were united in marriage by the Rev. Robert Quaintance at Good Hope Lutheran Church.
A reception was held that evening at Avion on the Water in Canfield to honor the daughter of B.J. and Bobbie Simcox of Poland and the son of Carol A. Evans of Youngstown.
The couple live in Boardman.
The bride wore a duchess satin gown adorned with beading and sequins and designed with long lace sleeves, a basque waistline, open V-back and a detachable cathedral train. She completed her ensemble with her mother's veil.
Wine-colored gowns were worn by the honor attendants, Shanna Gligor and Joanie Kuras, and the bridesmaids, Vicki Mauer, Danielle Devine and Ericka Mark. Flower girls were Corie and Ali Kuras.
The duties of best man were performed by Jason Roberts, and groomsmen were Jason Bishop, Matt Brown, Rick DiNunzio and the bride's brother, Greg Simcox. Guests were ushered by the groom's brother, Thomas Evans, and also participating were Elaine and Joe Neverauskas.
The bride is a teacher at Summit Academy Elementary School in Youngstown. She graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in early childhood education and is pursuing a master's in special education.
The groom graduated from YSU with a degree in nursing and is a nurse at Austinwoods Nursing Home in Austintown.
