Victory belongs to those of faith
Life is filled with uncertainty, and trouble can strike you at any time. The stress of this world can seem to deplete your strength and destroy your joy. Much of the time you may feel weary and defeated and conclude that no one really cares.
The truth of the matter is that there is someone who cares. In Proverbs 20 we find that there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. That friend is Christ Jesus, who willingly died for us so that we might have a life of victory.
Scripture is filled with God's promises to us and how Jesus is the fulfillment of them all. God's faithfulness to us is revealed in his holy word.
For while we were still sinners, God sent his only Son Jesus to suffer and die for us that we might have eternal life with him. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Because of this, anyone in Christ is a new creation, and God will not allow any of your problems to destroy you. God's ways and his thoughts are greater than ours, and his perfect plan for us will succeed even when we feel defeated.
God never fails
For believers, his strength will always uphold you despite the storm you are in, and his peace will never leave you. Situations and trials cannot stop the purpose that God has for you. It doesn't matter if we fail God, God will never fail us.
In Psalm 145, we are told, "The Lord is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made." He rewards those who seek him, for God desires a relationship with us no matter how far we have strayed from him.
Scripture tells us that God determines the number of stars and calls them each by name. How much greater it is for us who were created in his image and called by his name.
God will withhold nothing good from those who trust in the work of the Cross, and no struggle can separate you from the love of God that is in Jesus. His love and mercy will part the waters of trouble that try to take you down. That means that despite your struggle, sickness, financial problems, heartache or addictions, nothing can stop the far surpassing power of God who will help all who call on his name.
Though outwardly we are wasting away, inwardly we are being renewed so that one day we will spend eternity in heaven. The problems of this world cannot compare to the reward God has promised to those who endure to the end.
Despite the uncertainty of this life, there is an eternal hope that we were given when Jesus paid the price for our sins. Salvation through Jesus is a free gift and it does not matter what wrong you have done in your life or what church you attend or even if you have not been to church.
In 1 John 9, God tells us that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us and purify us from unrighteousness. The power of this life of victory can be yours just by trusting in Jesus, the one who is called faithful and true.
