Selway lifts Leetonia to win in OT

Josh Selway's 6-yard TD run gave the Bears a 13-7 victory over Southern.

LEETONIA -- Josh Selway scored on a 6-yard run in the first overtime to lead the Leetonia High football team to a 13-7 win over Southern in an Inter Tri-County League Tier Two game on Friday.

Selway finished with 18 carries for 61 yards for the Bears (6-4, 5-2), who still had an outside chance at a playoff berth. Jake Kruegal added 65 yards on 18 carries.

Nick Puckett ran 13 times for 63 yards before leaving the game at halftime for Southern (6-4, 3-4). He finished the season with 212 carries for a school-record 1,978 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Bryant Nestor had 14 carries for 55 yards and a TD. Southern kicker David Ramsey had a chance to give the Indians the lead early in the fourth quarter, but his 30-yard field goal attempt hit the crossbar.

South Range 43,Lisbon 12

LISBON -- Steve Bensinger returned the opening kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown and he rushed for 137 yards on six carries, which included a 52-yard run for South Range.

The Raiders (10-0, 7-0 Tier One) will host a Division V playoff game next week.

South Range took a 43-0 lead before the Blue Devils (4-6, 2-4) were able to score.

The Raiders gained 250 yards on 24 attempts and they connected on 2-of-5 passes for 49, with Less Rach catching both passes.

Lisbon's Dana Rose caught a 1-yard pass from Steve Tsilimos and Mark Boley tallied on a 5-yard run.

Crestview 34,East Palestine 14

EAST PALESTINE -- Keith Drewnoski ran 15 times for 155 yards and three touchdowns for Crestview (8-2, 5-2), which entered the game ranked fifth in the Div. V, Region 17 computer ratings.

Zach Parker added seven carries for 57 yards and a TD for the Rebels, who took a 34-0 halftime lead. Josh Orr added a 21-yard TD run.

Gary Sensenbaugher had 15 carries for 91 yards and a TD and Aaron Householder had 17 carries for 65 yards for the Bulldogs (0-10, 0-7).

Lowellville 26,Sebring 7

LOWELLVILLE -- Jon Calderone ran 23 times for 112 yards and a touchdown to lead the Rockets (2-8, 2-5), who gained 290 yards on the ground on 52 carries.

Vince Travaline added 11 carries for 107 yards and a TD and Jerrod Donatelli had 11 for 50 and a TD. Jon Frame also scored on a 5-yard fumble recovery.

Stephen Rastetter scored on a 60-yard kickoff return late in the fourth quarter for Sebring (0-10, 0-7).

Columbiana 27,United 0

HANOVERTON -- Joe Winters scored on runs of 24 and 5 yards and he returned an intercepted pass 55 for another TD as the Clippers improved to 8-2, 5-2 in the Inter-Tri-County League Tier one game.

Quarterback Ryan Williams of the Clippers completed 6-of-19 passes for 112 yards and he scored on a 10-yard run.

Columbiana had 345 total yards, compared to 58 for the Golden Eagles (4-6, 2-5).
