Lakeview hands LaBrae defeat; Girard wins over Newton Falls
LEAVITTSBURG -- Eric Pirtz had touchdowns runs of 4, 19 and 7 yards, and Max Spies made three extra-point kicks, as Lakeview High defeated LaBrae, 27-0, in the Trumbull Athletic Conference.
On 53 rushing attempts, Lakeview (5-5, 4-3 TAC) gained 212 yards. Pirtz, a senior running back, had 111 yards on 28 attempts. Junior tailback Jon Biehl caught a 34-yard touchdown pass from Justin Clark. It was the only completion for Clark, a sophomore quarterback who attempted three aerials.
LaBrae (6-4, 4-3) had 46 total yards but lost three fumbles and had one pass intercepted.
Lakeview's only turnover was a lost fumble.

GIRARD -- Running back Kyle Stadlemyer scored all three touchdowns for Girard (4-6, 3-4 TAC).
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound sophomore's runs from scrimmage covered 39, 67 and 58 yards. Stadlemyer gained 267 yards on 23 attempts and finished the season with over 1,500 yards.
The Indians had 278 yards in total offense.
A blocked punt on the first play of the fourth quarter set up Newton Falls' lone touchdown, a 1-yard run by Jae Leeworthy.
The Tigers (1-9, 1-6) had 97 total yards with Leeworthy picking up 25.
