Canfield beats West Branch, 4-0

CANFIELD -- Kevin Buck scored two goals Saturday to lead the Canfeld High boys soccer team to a 4-0 victory over West Branch in the Division II district final.

Tuesday at 7 p.m., Canfield will play Walsh Jesuit in the regional semifinals at Alliance Rockhill Elementary School.

Kyle Reese assisted on Buck's first goal and Jason Murdoch set up the second.

Also scoring for the Cardinals were Kevin Ricks and Kurt Ulbricht. Nick Benedetto earned an assist.

Canfield took 14 shots at West Branch goaltender Chance Young who made eight saves.

West Branch took four shots on goal and Canfield goaltenders Jon Congelio and Eric Clayton combined for four saves.

Girls game postponed

HOWLAND -- Saturday's Division I girls soccer district finale between Howland and Poland was postponed and will be made up on Monday. The location has not been determined.
