Published: Fri, October 27, 2006 @ 12:00 a.m.

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Kiwanis Club of Downtown Youngstown, in cooperation with the trauma services program at St. Elizabeth Health Center, will conduct a Walk the Magic Mile event on Make a Difference Day on Saturday.

The purpose of the event is to raise funds for pediatric trauma prevention and treatment projects in Ohio, including the purchase of pediatric immobilization boards that St. Elizabeth's trauma services will make available to area ambulance companies for the transportation of critically injured children.

The community is invited to take part in the event, which will begin with registration in the St. Elizabeth's parking deck from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.

The walk around the perimeter of St. Elizabeth's will begin at 10:30 a.m. The registration fee is $10, and T-shirts will be provided to the first 70 participants.

For advance registration and additional information, call (330) 207-6600.
